ARU Honour Boards

Lindfield Community,

Following the recent AGM, the first business to address is updating the club house honour boards (finally!).

Committee Honour Board
For the committee honour board, we have compiled the following list dating back to 1947 – http://bit.ly/2A4H6Qo. There are a few gaps in the mid-late 1990s so if any can help fill these in or correct any mistakes, please email tristan@enerds.com.au.

Centurion Club
We’re currently liaising with Subbies to obtain player information re number of games played. However, if you have previously received an award / recognition for reaching 100/200/300/400/500 games, please click the following link and fill in your details – https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/JMFLDMR.

Due to the fact the club hasn’t maintained accurate records, the current rule is six (6) seasons for the first 100 games and five (5) seasons for each subsequent 100 games (i.e., 11 seasons for 200, 16 seasons for 300, 21 seasons for 400, 26 seasons for 500).

We understand this is somewhat flawed particularly when a player backs-up for multiple games on a regular basis and has played more than 20 games a season. At the other end of the scale, a player may be injured or unavailable for lengthy parts of the season. If you have recorded the number of games you’ve played, we will take you on your word, otherwise we ask that you follow the aforementioned rule.

Thanks in advance.

2018 LRU Committee

Posted on: November 22nd, 2017 by president No Comments

Good morning all,

I am writing this message to all current members, players, sponsors and supporters of Lindfield Rugby Union.

After a short break post Season 2017 we are all back at work preparing for 2018.

A new committee has been formed and we have held an initial meeting.

We welcome a new face in Josh Rickard-Ford (Vice President) and familiar faces Ben Dibden and Toni Francis back onto the committee.

The 2018 LRU Committee is as follows:
1. President: Raef Johnson
2. Vice President: Josh Rickard-Ford
3. Treasurer: Ben Dibden
4. Secretary: Toni Francis

At the same time we have to thank departing Committee members Jared Hills. He will still be prominent around the club, finally playing a few more games.

Finally, can I point out that each and every committee member assumes direct responsibility for a specific area of operation within the club. In a volunteer organisation we need volunteers to assist in all facets of the club running smoothly. There are holes in the subcommittee that need to be filled at this point, so please jump on board.

Please note this extends to coaching staff too.

It will be greatly appreciated if you have any interest, desire or ability to assist the club you could reach out. If you can register your interest (or encourage a family member to register) via email (rgjohnson1978@gmail.com) it will assist the club greatly.

Regards,

Raef Johnson
LRU President

2017 LRU AGM

Posted on: October 19th, 2017 by president No Comments

Players, Supporters and Sponsors,

We wish to cordially invite all to the annual AGM for 2017.

The 2017 AGM of the LRU is an opportunity for the people associated with the club to voice their opinions, desires and requirements on the direction in which the club is run for the future years.

It is an open forum for all.

It will be held at the Lindfield Rugby Clubhouse on Tuesday, November 14th, starting at 7pm.

Please allow adequate time to be seated for the start of the meeting, as we run very tight curfews with Councils requirements.

If any further information is required, please do not hesitate to contact myself, or those on the committee.

Kind Regards,

Raef Johnson
LRU President.

Lane Cove Tag League Competition

Posted on: September 7th, 2017 by president No Comments

Hello all,

With the season wrapped up now, we all need something to keep us going, so what is a better way than more footy!

North Shore Tag League comp starts Monday 19th Sept at Blackman Park, Lane Cove and our back-to-back-to-back premiership winning Old Soldier team would love a bit of competition.

Helmut at Tag League sponsors the club, so we get discounted rego and you can play both men’s or mixed. The season starts Monday week with finals in January after the Christmas break.

Anyone who’s played before, get your team back in there and any new players sort yourselves out here and put a team together (we recommend squad size of 12). All rego details are on this link, fill in the important details on the form (name, DOB, email, mobile) and email to the address on the page!

Also note for the ladies, this is a great stepping stone to playing LRU Rugby 7’s, something the we are very interested in starting if we get enough interest.

LRU grand Finals

Posted on: September 1st, 2017 by president No Comments

Tomorrow sees the two Lindfield teams playing the the Grand Final for silverware.

The venue for this fantastic day is Concord Oval.

Make sure you get on down to support the boys – it’s been a massive year on and off the field for the club and it doesn’t get bigger than a Grand Final.

Supporters: It’s worth noting the amended kick off times to those during the regular season and entry is $15 at the gate so make sure you have some money handy.

4 grades will battle it out for spots in the Grand and Preliminary finals as we aim to bring silverware back to Tryon Rd!
