Back2Lindfield Day this Saturday

Published May 21, 2015

Every man and woman that has ever supported the LRU has a certain sense of pride every time they see the Sky Blue & White.

Memories that last a lifetime. It may be on the field, it may be a beer after, a bus ride, a birthday, a poker night, a kangaroo court, a kick on, a kick off.. It may be holding up a trophy or loosing by 50. But these memories will be with us until the end of our time.

This weekend, Tryon Road will spring to life and open its gates to another instalment of Back2LindfieldDay.

Games start at 10:30am with a few older names having a trundle in fourth grade and the beers will be cold throughout the day. There’s prizes, raffles, Ghostbusters and Snoop Dogs.
The First XV will kick off at 3:15pm.

Shuttle buses will transport everyone to The Greengate Hotel after speeches and the celebration will continue. If you have the time and you haven’t forgotten these memories… We’ll see you on Saturday; rain, hail or shine.

Old Soldier.

One of the biggest days of the Lindfield Rugby calendar is almost upon us. Back2Lindfield Day will be held at Tryon Rd on Saturday May 23rd, with the games against new-commers to the division Hills Rugby Club.

It’s great day to be part of, as Ex-Old Soldiers, families and friends all come together to celebrate the mighty club of LRU. We will have the Jackalope Food Co. back for the BBQ Takeover and plenty of quality rugby to watch, as we let Hills know what Tryon Rd is all about!

We also 3 Old Soldier Reunions happening! 1950 Burke Cup, 1980 Whiddon Cup and the 2005 Robertson Cup teams. So, grab you mates, kids, friends and anyone else you see wondering around aimlessly and get down to Lindfield Oval.

TOMORROW: Internal Trials @ Koola

Published March 20, 2015

Details have been confirmed for a day of internal trials this Saturday, March 21. We have Koola Park booked for the festivities and will expect EVERYONE, including injured players, there at 11:30am.
The set-list for the day will be as follows…

12:00pm Colts A v Colts B
1:00pm Colts v Mixed Seniors
1:40pm Possibles v Probables

IMPORTANT! Can everyone please bring a non-lindfield rugby jersey!

The game formats will vary slightly, but Colts will be playing 2 x 25min halves, and then another 25min half against a mixture of the seniors. Possibles and Probables will likely be playing a number of shorter sessions over the afternoon, as we look at few players in different positions.

Once we finish, around 3pm, we expect a good flow of cold beer at the Greengate.

Any questions please ask.
