2017 LRU AGM

Published October 19, 2017

Players, Supporters and Sponsors,

We wish to cordially invite all to the annual AGM for 2017.

The 2017 AGM of the LRU is an opportunity for the people associated with the club to voice their opinions, desires and requirements on the direction in which the club is run for the future years.

It is an open forum for all.

It will be held at the Lindfield Rugby Clubhouse on Tuesday, November 14th, starting at 7pm.

Please allow adequate time to be seated for the start of the meeting, as we run very tight curfews with Councils requirements.

If any further information is required, please do not hesitate to contact myself, or those on the committee.

Kind Regards,

Raef Johnson
LRU President.

Lane Cove Tag League Competition

Published September 7, 2017

Hello all,

With the season wrapped up now, we all need something to keep us going, so what is a better way than more footy!

North Shore Tag League comp starts Monday 19th Sept at Blackman Park, Lane Cove and our back-to-back-to-back premiership winning Old Soldier team would love a bit of competition.

Helmut at Tag League sponsors the club, so we get discounted rego and you can play both men’s or mixed. The season starts Monday week with finals in January after the Christmas break.

Anyone who’s played before, get your team back in there and any new players sort yourselves out here and put a team together (we recommend squad size of 12). All rego details are on this link, fill in the important details on the form (name, DOB, email, mobile) and email to the address on the page!

Also note for the ladies, this is a great stepping stone to playing LRU Rugby 7’s, something the we are very interested in starting if we get enough interest.

LRU Mental Health Week

Published June 1, 2017

This weekend is Mental Health Awareness round where the players of Lindfield Rugby Club will be wearing one of the batyr ‘One Sock One Goal’ socks. Pioneered by our very own Jake Broxom, this day is designed to promote awareness of the stigma surrounding discussions about mental health.

Almost 1 in 5 Australians will suffer from some sort of mental illness each year and is the third leading cause of disability. This day is aimed at giving a voice to such a prevalent issue in modern society which still goes largely unnoticed.

batyr are an organisation that focuses on preventative education in the area of youth mental health. They provide programs that train young people to speak about their personal experience with mental ill health and start a conversation in their community. You can read more at http://www.batyr.com.au/

All games against Hunters Hill will be at Tryon Oval, with 4th Grade kicking things off at 10:45am. There will be a BBQ all day along with a raffle and plenty of beers, wine, champagne and drinks for the kids.

It should be a cracker of a day so bring the parents, the kids, the siblings or anyone who would enjoy a nice relaxing Saturday arvo at the footy.

The new Lindfield budgy smugglers have just arrived so you never know, you might get a glimpse of the glory!

Back to Lindfield Day 2017

Published April 18, 2017

It’s time!!! After taking a break over Summer it is time for club house corner to spring back to life in the only way it knows how…

2017 kicks off this weekend, April 22nd, with Back To Lindfield Day against newly promoted Beecroft.

To compliment the champagne rugby that will be on show we have Jackalope, back by popular demand, who will cook up a guaranteed storm and our friends at Wayward and Feral brewing serving up cold beverages.

On ‘Back To Lindfield Day’ we like to give a little bit back to the community we represent on the footy field each week, and with activities for the kids, and running rugby on the menu for the adults it’s going to be a real spectacle.

It’s going to be a great day and everyone is more than welcome so make sure to spread the word and get club house corner roaring!
